A little girl named Katy Collins (Paige Conner) begins a rampage of supernatural terror. We know this because we've been warned about her by a blonde-haired Jeezuz hippie guy (Franco Nero).
Bigshot sports team owner, Raymond Armstead (Lance Henriksen) is dating Katy's mum, Barbara (Joanne Nail). Armstead is drawn into a secret cabal of weirdos who inform him that he must help them to ensure that Katy gets a brother.
Is humanity doomed?
THE VISITOR is a preposterous film. There are several sequences that have absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the movie. The dialogue obscures things rather than shedding any light on whatever the hell is supposed to be going on! All while intense, mega-dramatic music booms, whether the "action" calls for it or not.
John Huston's character spends most of his time roaming around on a roof, surrounded by silent bald men. He also gazes down from on high at a display of pretty colors. Glenn Ford plays a cop who seems lost in the miasma of this cinematic nonsense. His bird-pecking death scene is a definite highlight. Annnd, Shelley Winters' character sings!
To be fair, Katy herself is rather creepy, with her silver-eyed brat routine.
