Three Australian lieutenants are court martialed for executing prisoners as a way of deflecting attention from war crimes committed by their superior officers.
Many of the production personnel who worked on this film also worked on director Bruce Beresford's next film, The Club (1980). This included star Jack Thompson, DOP Donald McAlpine, producer Matt Carroll, and actors Alan Cassell and Frank Wilson.
