The psychedelic color effects throughout the Ming universe were accomplished by swirling multicolored dyes through creatively-lit tanks of water.

When Flash holds out his hand to help Baron over the edge of the tilting combat platform, one of the spikes bends as Flash's leg pushes against it.
The opening credits are being played along with various clips of the original comic book strips, along with drawings of character models, all accompanied by the trademark song "Flash" by Queen.
The 1993 Universal Laser Disc is complete with all deleted scenes listed in the other comments present on that disc, as well as the trailer being added at the end of the film. Reports from people who saw the film's preview in early 1980 indicate that there were several additional scenes of Flash on Aboria with Prince Barin.
