During World War II, the British must attack a German ship, but it's safe in neutral Goa. As a result, they send civilians: former soldiers who are about sixty years old.
This movie marked a reunion for several cast and crew members who had previously worked on The Wild Geese (1978). This included producer Euan Lloyd; actors Sir Roger Moore and Kenneth Griffith, director Andrew V. McLaglen; production designer Syd Cain; screenwriter Reginald Rose; and composer Roy Budd. Plus cast members Patrick Allen, Percy Herbert, Patrick Holt, Jack Watson, and Brook Williams.
Col. W.H. 'Bill' Grice:
Will you take a look at the engine in this thing?
Col. Lewis Pugh: No, but I have a general idea.
Col. W.H. 'Bill' Grice: It belongs in a museum.
Col. Lewis Pugh: So do some of us. Well, cheer up.
The calendar page on the bulletin board in Bill's office starts on a Thursday when it should have started on a Friday in that month and year.
