A.J. and Rick were at a restaurant when the owner is killed. And while they didn't actually see the incident, they saw a man standing over him with the weapon. The prosecutor whom they know, who is using the case for exposure, is determined to see the man convicted. But they eventually realize the man may be innocent and the prosecutor also knows it but is apparently using them to get someone else.

When a man who's going through a messy divorce hires Rick and A.J. to locate a man who could give vital testimony, they find him bring him to court, he testifies and his wife's alimony suit is dismissed. Later they learn that their client and the man they were hired to find were in cahoots so that he wouldn't have to pay his wife a divorce settlement. When they are unable to prove their client's collusion and Brown tells them to let it go. They decide to turn Brown's cousin Lucky a con man who's just been released from prison. Brown warns them that Lucky is not to be trusted and after they approach him, he is approached by some people whom he owes money to and offers them what he's going to get from Rick and A.J.'s plot.
