During a New Year's Eve celebration, a Los Angeles disc jockey receives a phone call saying that when New Year's strikes in each time zone, someone will be murdered - and she will be the last one.
One of several holiday-themed horror films that followed the success of Halloween (1978) in 1980. The notable difference here is the murderer's face is revealed early on; he isn't masked until the finale of the movie.

At one point a psychiatrist says that the killer is "mutilating" the breasts of his victims, however, when the bodies of the murder victims are found there are no injuries to their chests at all.
During the closing credits crawl the speed of the crawl visibly speeds up after the cast but then slows again toward the end for the soundtrack credits.
