A blade runner must pursue and terminate four replicants who stole a ship in space, and have returned to Earth to find their creator.
The ending title sequence in the theatrical cut of the film contains unused footage from Stanley Kubrick's The Shining (1980). These were extra shots of the main title sequence, although none of the shots contain the road that was seen in The Shining.
Female announcer over intercom:
Next subject: Kowalski, Leon. Engineer, waste disposal. File section: New employee, six days.
A hand is visible on Batty's shoulder while he is supposedly alone in the phone booth. This is because the shot of him looking up and smiling is a flipped shot from later in the film when he meets Tyrell, just prior to saying "Nothing the god of biomechanics wouldn't let you into heaven for" (corrected in the 2007 "Final Cut" of the movie; the hand has been digitally removed).
The opening credits sequence features a detailed, dictionary-style definition of the word Replicant.
