A computer hacker is abducted into the digital world and forced to participate in gladiatorial games where his only chance of escape is with the help of a heroic security program.
In the initial scenes with Flynn at the arcade, he is playing a game he invented called Space Paranoids. The game he is playing bears remarkable resemblance to 3-D graphics game engines, which would not be invented for ten more years.

(at around 28 mins) When Lora shows her direct terminal in ENCOM building (laser target area) to Flynn, he turns the computer on by turning the wheel on the printer. Some may say that he tries to put the paper in, so he could print out the evidence of the theft of "Space paranoid" game, but the paper is already in and ready to print. This is maybe not a mistake, just ignorance...
A section of the end credits is in Taiwanese.
The light cycle sequence originally had background music. This alternate scene is present on the special laserdisc edition.
