TV Series | TV-PG | | Action, Adventure, Crime
Four Vietnam vets, framed for a crime they didn't commit, help the innocent while on the run from the military.
In order of descending rank Hannibal is a Colonel, Murdock a Captain, Face a Lieutenant and BA a Sergeant. Although Murdock technically outranks him when Hannibal is absent it's normally Face who takes charge due to Murdock's apparent insanity. Hannibal, Face and BA were all Green Berets, members of the US Army Special Forces. In The A-Team: A Nice Place to Visit (1983) we see Murdock wearing his formal uniform at a funeral and see that he was an army helicopter pilot but not a Green Beret. His uniform does display the Parachutist Badge (Airborne wings) showing that he has undergone paratrooper training.
What's the matter, Captain?
Murdock: Something horrible.
Face: What's the matter? Billy get hit by a car.
Murdock: I've been thrown out. Cast out...
Hannibal: You've been found sane?
Murdock: You got it.
Throughout the series due to budget constraints, several scenes and special effects shots are lifted from well known movies from the 70s and 80s and even from earlier A-Team episodes.
The episodes broadcast in Germany on the commercial network RTL were heavily cut with regards to violence and 'imitable techniques' (such as improvising weapons and explosives). Also, the opening credits for all episodes were based on the version originally used for the 5th season, including the unpopular remix of the opening song. The first season episodes broadcast on the public network ARD, however, were completely uncut and featured the original opening credits.
