    Storyline

    Lt. Frank Chaney of the LAPD is a maverick cop with unorthodox methods who is assigned to the Blue Thunder Team, which uses a very advanced gadget-filled helicopter in its fight against crime. "Blue Thunder" is capable of great speed and maneuverability, can run silently in "whisper mode", and is armed with the most powerful weapons in development. His partner is a fresh-faced rookie with the improbable name of Wonderlove, and ground support is supplied by ex-athletes Ski and Bubba, who drive a sophisticated van. —Marty McKee <mmckee@soltec.net>

    BLUE THUNDER and Buck!
    ABC-TV's 1984 version of "BLUE THUNDER" was truly a short-lived effort, but for one interesting little fact- former "BUCK RODGERS IN THE 25th CENTURY" actor Gil Gerard was originally offered the role before James Farentino, but Gerard (who later starred on CBS's short-lived "E. A. R. T. H. FORCE" in Fall 1990) had turned down the role for either personal or political reasons. A late 1983 article in TV Guide confirms this obscure fact!
