Actor Michelle Rodriguez knew what it was like to play action stars after doing a feature like Girlfight. She looked forward to seeing another actor lace up boxing gloves in Clint Eastwood’d Million Dollar Baby. But although she enjoyed the film to a point, she felt it eventually let down her expectations.

Warning: Spoilers for ‘Million Dollar Baby’ is in this article
One of the reasons why Rodriguez was excited about seeing Million Dollar Baby was because it reminded her of her very first movie. Rodriguez got her breakthrough role doing Girlfight. The beloved procedural crime show "Bones" ran for an impressive 12 seasons, continuing the upward TV star trajectory for David Boreanaz after his work on shows like "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel," and helping to launch Emily Deschanel to become a household name after a slew of small roles in a handful of TV shows and movies.
As the co-stars of "Bones," Deschanel and Boreanaz naturally appeared in every single episode of the series. And while viewers know guest stars didn't pop up nearly as frequently, some casual watchers may think that some of the more familiar faces might have at least popped up one time per season. But as it turns out, out of all of the guest stars who graced the series from 2005-2017, only one performer managed to make at least one appearance across all 12 seasons: Patricia Belcher, who played Caroline Julian, a federal prosecutor for the U.

In John Stamos’ upcoming memoir, If You Could Have Told Me, he claims that back in the 1980s, he walked in on his then-girlfriend Teri Copley in bed with Tony Danza.
“I can’t explain it, but I would’ve rather been punched in the nose again or something because the pain is so overwhelming,” he told People. “Looking back, it’s like, probably, she wasn’t the right girl for me. So seeing him, realizing it was him and stuff, it was hard. I mean, it was awful.”
Stamos, 60, described when he found Copley asleep next to Danza, whom he didn’t immediately recognize.
At the sight of her in bed with another man, Stamos said he stumbled backward out of the room.
He recalled, “At first I was like, ‘I’m going to kick his…’ I didn’t know it was [Danza] yet. I see his abs. I’m like,...

American Horror Stories, a streaming series spin-off from FX’s long-running horror anthology series American Horror Story, began with a seven episode first season in 2021, and an eight episode second season followed in 2022. For the upcoming third season, the episode count has been shortened to just four – and all four episodes of American Horror Stories season 3 are set to drop on the Hulu streaming service on October 26th! With that date just three weeks away, a teaser trailer has arrived online to give a quick preview of the Halloween (or “Huluween”) event. You can watch it in the embed above.
Created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuck, the same duo that’s responsible for American Horror Story, this series is a weekly hourlong anthology that features a different horror story, some of which call back to the original series, in each contained episode. This past summer, as Hollywood faced its second major strike, the president of actors union SAG-AFTRA took the podium. She was without makeup, she was raspy and she was pissed. Gone was the ozone-shattering hairspray and the wild prints plucked right from the zoo. Nowhere in earshot was the dog whistle voice and the dolphin laugh. This was Fran Drescher: not the street-smart bimbo of somehow successful sitcoms and expectedly by-the-numbers romances, but the woman who will do anything to show her loyalty and not back down from anything. She had done it throughout her career through battles with industry execs and cancer, and now she was doing it against some of the biggest names in Hollywood.
Wtf Happened to…Fran Drescher?
But to truly understand what the fuck happened to Fran Drescher, we go back to the beginning. And the beginning began when she was born on September 30th,...

Although Edie Falco’s Emmy Awards history began with a successful Best Drama Actress bid for “The Sopranos” in 1999, she has since racked up more comedy nominations than drama ones. After receiving a comedy guest notice for “30 Rock” in 2008, she earned half a dozen lead ones for “Nurse Jackie” between 2010 and 2015, the first of which led to a win. Now, as a Best Comedy Supporting Actress contender for Peacock’s “Bupkis,” she could become the eighth entrant on the list of women who have earned recognition in every possible comedy Emmy category.
After “Nurse Jackie,” “Bupkis” is only the second comedy series on which Falco has played a regular role. Her character, Amy Davidson, is a fictionalized version of series star Pete Davidson’s own mother, who raised him and his younger sister as a single parent after her husband died during the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center.

In the early days of television, the “Big Three” networks ruled the small screen. ABC is the baby, entering the new medium a little behind its competitors, and finding new and creative ways to find success against two mighty opponents.
ABC found its earliest success with two programs that had begun on radio, “The Lone Ranger,” which was the network’s first big hit, and “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet,” a sitcom loosely based on the life of the real-life Nelson family. The latter remained on the air for 14 seasons, and was the longest-running prime-time comedy for decades, and the longest-running live action sitcom until 2021. However, ABC still struggled against the firmly established NBC and CBS, and found innovative ways to compete.
In 1954, ABC and Walt Disney struck an unprecedented deal: the network helped finance the filmmaker’s ambitious Disneyland Park, while Disney produced a weekly TV show for the network.

Tony Danza has joined the small but growing list of stars whose attitude towards red carpet interactions with reporters has been found wanting.
The veteran actor, most famous for his role on comedies Taxi and Who’s the Boss?, was being interviewed by reporter Rye Myers at the Broadway premiere of ‘New York, New York’.
In a video posted by Myers to TikTok, Danza is seen telling the reporter to “relax a little.”
He continued: “You’re more excited than we are. Take it easy.”
When Myers described the moment as “exciting,” Danza replied, “I know, I know, I know. Ok.”
Unlike other guests questioned by Myers about their favourite New York City staple food, Danza refused to answer, instead touching the reporter’s face and telling him, “You know what you’ve got to do, buddy, you’ve got to come up with better questions.”
Myers captioned his video: “To say I was blown away,...

One of the classic TV comedies that doesn’t get much love anymore is Who’s the Boss? Maybe that’s because it’s not streaming anywhere so it’s hard to binge like Friends or The Office. Also, it’s all the more reason you might need other recommendations to get your Who’s the Boss? fix while you wait for your DVD of the complete first season to arrive.

The Beach Boys were one of the biggest musical groups of the 1960s. But that doesn’t mean they completely dominated the entertainment industry. The band provided the theme song for a short-lived ’60s sitcom that few have heard of today.

Have you watched "Knives Out" and "Glass Onion" and found yourself in desperate need of more tales of murder from writer/director Rian Johnson? Or perhaps you've binge-watched both seasons of "Russian Doll" and are ready for another show where Natasha Lyonne attempts to solve a mystery with a lackadaisical attitude and some sharp wit. Or maybe you just want to see Adrien Brody, Stephanie Hsu, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ron Perlman, Benjamin Bratt, Chloë Sevigny, Lil Rel Howery, Clea Duvall, Tim Blake Nelson, and a whole clown car of other acclaimed actors all in one place.
If any of the above apply, then "Poker Face" might be the show for you. Created, written, and directed by Johnson, the 10-episode case-of-the-week murder mystery series stars Lyonne as Charlie Cale, a casino hostess turned detective with an uncanny ability to know whether or not someone is telling the truth. Earl Boen, the busy character actor best known for his stint as the criminal psychologist Peter Silberman in the Terminator film franchise, died Thursday in Hawaii, his daughter told The Hollywood Reporter. He was 81.
Ruby Harbin said her dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer in November and died quietly in his sleep.
Born on Aug. 8, 1941, Boen amassed dozens of credits during his career. In 1984, he landed his most notable role as Dr. Silberman in James Cameron’s The Terminator, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton and Michael Biehn. He reprised the role in Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003).
One memorable scene in the first Terminator saw the character interrogate Biehn’s Kyle Reese, a freedom fighter from the future that the psychologist believed suffered from paranoid delusions. Nearly 40 years later, Biehn recalled fondly his time working with Boen on the scene.

Sadly, it has been confirmed by Deadline that Boen passed away in Hawaii yesterday, January 5th, at the age of 81. A friend of Boen’s and his family revealed that Boen had been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer in the fall of 2022.
Born on August 4, 1941, Boen made his screen acting debut in a 1974 episode of the PBS series Great Performances. The many credits he racked up after that appearance include the films The Main Event, Battle Beyond the Stars, 9 to 5, Soggy Bottom USA,...

Nearly five decades after achieving two consecutive Best TV Comedy Actor Golden Globe victories for “Happy Days,” Henry Winkler could now become the first man to ever be honored by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for both lead and supporting performances on comedy programs. The septuagenarian “Barry” cast member did not succeed on his first two Golden Globe bids for the HBO show, but his luck may change now that he is competing in a brand new category.
Ahead of the 80th Golden Globes, the HFPA established the Best TV Comedy/Drama Supporting Actor and Best TV Movie/Limited Series Supporting Actor categories as replacements for a catch-all one that had existed since 1971. Whereas Winkler was beaten in 2019 and 2020 by limited series actors Ben Whishaw (“A Very English Scandal”) and Stellan Skarsgård (“Chernobyl”), he now does not have to concern himself with losing to performers from non-continuing programs. His potential...

Over four decades after collecting back-to-back Best TV Comedy Actor Golden Globes for playing The Fonz on “Happy Days,” Henry Winkler could make history as the first man to ever be honored by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for both lead and supporting performances on comedy series. According to Gold Derby’s predictions, the “Barry” cast member is the odds-on favorite in the newly established Best TV Comedy/Drama Supporting Actor category. Though he lost on his first two Golden Globe nominations for the HBO show, he may be set for success this time thanks to some rule changes.

In addition to acting as an executive producer and/or frequent director on HBO shows like "Succession," "Game of Thrones," and "Entourage," Mark Mylod has helmed several comedy films, with his feature-length directorial debut being "Ali G Indahouse." In "The Menu," however, Mylod is tapping into a different impulse — horror — which may not be so different, after all.
"The Menu" stars Anya Taylor-Joy and Nicholas Hoult as a couple dining at an exclusive island restaurant run by Chef Slowik (Ralph Fiennes), who — based on the movie's cheeky trailer — may or may not be above chopping off fingers and hunting people for food. It's only Mylod's fourth film and his first one in over a decade, so when /Film's Ryan Scott had a chance to speak with the director at Fantastic Fest, he asked what it was that brought him to "The Menu." Between metaphorical bites, Mylod explained:

The film currently in post-production will have been completed within two months from the date of Roe’s overturning — which eliminated the longstanding constitutional right to abortion — in an effort to ensure this is a response and not a delayed reaction. The creators, cast and crew have made a significant effort to expedite the process in order to start a conversation with audiences about the importance of bodily autonomy and address the dysfunction of a democracy that is not protecting the needs of a majority of the population. The fourth season of Netflix’s “Stranger Things” is set in 1986. Talk about déjà vu.
The top movie of the year was “Top Gun” starring Tom Cruise and this year, the sequel “Top Gun: Maverick” is the top flick earning nearly 582 million in North America. “Cobra Kai,”the TV sequel to “Karate Kid,” is one of the most popular series on Netflix and several “Star Trek” series have blasted off on “Paramount+.
A handful the top ten TV series including “Cheers,” “Murder, She Wrote” and “The Golden Girls” are living on in repeats. One of the top series, “60 Minutes,” is still chugging away on CBS after 54 seasons making it the longest running primetime series on the small screen. And Michael J. Fox, who won the Emmy that year for “Family Ties,” will receive an honorary Oscar this fall.

Frank Pesce, a colorful character actor whose dozens of credits range from Beverly Hills Cop, Top Gun and Midnight Run to Miami Vice, Matlock and Kojak, has died. He was 75.
His girlfriend Tammy Scher told Deadline that Pesce died February 6 in Burbank of dementia complications.

Who’s The Boss is one of the most popular sitcoms of the ’80s. The show raked in multiple awards during its time on air and built the careers of Tony Danza, Judith Light, and, most especially, Alyssa Milano. In a review by Anna Murdoch of the show on The Age, she wrote: “American sitcoms always have seemed over-wound-up, hysterical and lacking the seeming spontaneity of their English equivalents. Who’s The Boss has broken new ground by achieving real charm.” It’s been almost three decades since the last episode of Who’s The Boss? aired on TV. Here’s what the show’s cast

This article contains WandaVision episode 8 spoilers and potential spoilers for the wider MCU.
“You didn’t think you were the only magical girl in town, did you?”
Agatha Harkness makes good on that line from last week’s episode in WandaVision episode 8, which functions as a trip through Wanda Maximoff’s entire MCU history. Not only does it reveal previously hidden (and crucially necessary) depths to her character and her relationship with Vision, but it successfully adds new elements to her established origin story. These new wrinkles pull from Wanda’s entire Marvel history, and have massive implications for magic users and even mutants in the MCU going forward.
Here’s what we found…

In February, Judith Light was in Los Angeles supporting her husband, Robert Desiderio, at a launch event for his novel “The Occurrence: A Political Thriller” when she was stopped by a woman who wanted to share how much one of Light’s roles meant to her.
“She came up to me and she said, ‘I am in a corporate job now because I watched you on “Who’s the Boss?” and I knew that women could work outside the home, and I’m teaching my daughter the same thing,’” Light recalls.
It has been almost three decades since “Who’s the Boss?” signed off. Light is starring in Netflix’s “The Politician,” and will soon be seen on the big screen in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s feature adaptation of Jonathan Larson’s “Tick, Tick … Boom.” After lending her trans-formative acting talents to numerous boundary-breaking roles, she is receiving Variety’s third-ever Icon Award at Canneseries.
