A city teenager moves to a small town where rock music and dancing have been banned, and his rebellious spirit shakes up the populace.
This is the 1st movie that John Lithgow has played a preacher. The 2nd time was in the 2004 movie Kinsey. Coincidentally, in both movies he is seen at the beginning of each movie preaching to a congregation about the currupt values of that periods society.
"Burn in Hell?" This says "Burn in Hell"!
During the break-dancers showdown Willard is wearing his tux jacket. Then he gets picked for a solo and his jacket is off again.
U.S. release was originally rated "R", but edited down to earn a "PG" rating instead. It was shorn of the male frontal nudity, and the phrase "go fuck yourself" was altered to "go flack yourself".
