R | | Horror, Thriller
After being mortally wounded and taken to the morgue, murderer Jason Voorhees spontaneously revives and embarks on a killing spree as he makes his way back to his home at Camp Crystal Lake.
Carey More's audition was to simply read one line.
Hey, honey, you got a sister? Ruff, ruff!
(at around 19 mins) Pamela Voorhees' tombstone reads "1930-1979", but Friday the 13th (1980) shows her death taking place on Friday, June 13th, and June 13, 1979 was a Wednesday. (The year of her death should be 1980, as the first film was released in that year, and June 13th indeed fell on a Friday that year.)
In the opening credits, Jason's hockey mask appears and moves towards the screen. Letters proclaiming 'Friday the 13th' appear on it. Letters proclaiming 'The Final Chapter' swing down, crash into the mask, causing it to explode, and reveal the rest of the title.
German version was heavily cut to avoid being banned like part three (which was uncut) but became banned nevertheless. Only in 2017 the banishment was lifted.
$11,183,148 (USA) (15 April 1984)
