A Chicago psychoanalyst's patient and secretary are murdered and he becomes the police's prime suspect despite his claims that someone is trying to frame him.
An early scene in the movie features Sir Roger Moore visiting a grave, while this movie's final scene has him clutching a woman, who has just been shot. Moore was, at the time, well known for playing James Bond, and the above-mentioned two bookend scenes reflect two scenes from the Bond movies. When Moore starred in For Your Eyes Only (1981), he visited the grave of his dead wife in an early scene; and at the end of On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969), James Bond's wife is shot dead.
While falling down the stairs, the knife falls off the victim while presumably stabbed in his body revealing itself to be only a glued-on handle. In the next shot it's still in the body.
