Nick has a hard time fitting in with his suburban life and conforming to the macho stereotypes expected of him, unlike his rival, Corny Blower.
During filming, a crash during a scene with Corny Blower's car destroyed a $2000 camera belonging to the National Film Board of Canada. Later, in his film Crime Wave (1985), John Paizs used the actual audio recording from that crash and the pictures taken after police arrived, during a fictionalized description of the accident.
