A minor Golden Harvest action classic directed, written, choreographed by and starring none other than Beardy. This one has a slow and realist first half as it builds character and feels like a spin on DEATH WISH. Beardy plays an architect whose friendship with a school friend recently arrived from South Africa spells disaster for his happiness. The second half lets rip with incredibly bizarre and outlandish action, heavily indebted to the likes of THE WARRIORS and MAD MAX, with incredible stunts and wonderful bad guy turns from Michael Chan Wai-Man as an assassin and Phillip Ko in particular as a henchman with his own weird back story. They don't make 'em like this anymore, mores the pity!
