Marty McFly, a 17-year-old high school student, is accidentally sent thirty years into the past in a time-traveling DeLorean invented by his close friend, the eccentric scientist Doc Brown.
When Marty is walking down the street to the Soda Fountain in 1955, the music score is the The Four Aces singing "Mr. Sandman". He passes a record shop with a poster in the window advertising The Chordettes' original version of the song.
1985 Radio Announcer:
October is inventory time, so right now, Statler Toyota is making the best deals of the year on all 1985-model Toyotas. You won't find a better car at a better price with better service anywhere in Hill Valley. That's Statler Toyota in downtown Hill...
At the end of the film, when Marty is back in his house but everything has changed, his mother is asking him if he's going to the lake with Jennifer. There are two shots of her, one before she asks Marty the question, and one after. In one shot, she has a teacup and saucer in her hand. In the other shot, the teacup and saucer are on the table.
The character Marty McFly is credited as a performer on the song "Johnny B. Goode". It is actually sung by Mark Campbell with a guitar solo by Tim May.
Spanish dubbed version also refers to Marty in 1955 as Levi Strauss instead of Calvin Klein.
