During a wedding rehearsal, an English bride-to-be and an American who was just standing in for the groom accidentally get married. She doesn't mind the idea at first, but things get bumpy very soon.
This was the first movie to require Sir John Gielgud to speak in an accent not his own. He played an American evangelist from the Deep South. He received tuition in the accent from the veteran American voice coach Robert Easton, but did not get along with him very well.
