Warning: contains spoilers for Doctor Who: ‘The Giggle’.
“The Giggle” has been. The outcome: Ncuti Gatwa Is the Doctor! And David Tennant Is Also the Doctor!
Well, people said they wanted a multi-Doctor story, I guess.
So what’s happened, what does it mean, and will anyone ever get to read the original version of this article that I wrote in an extremely broad German accent?
In the final act of 60th anniversary special “The Giggle”, David Tennant’s Fourteenth Doctor was shot with a massive laser by The Toymaker (Neil Patrick Harris) and started to regenerate. However, the regeneration energy disappeared, and the Doctor asked his friends to pull. The Fifteenth Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) emerged as a new incarnation, leaving the Fourteenth alive and well and slightly confused. This is a ‘bigeneration’.
What the Flip Is a Bigeneration?

Robert Costa, a Washington Post reporter who has become increasingly visible on TV news networks in the past two election cycles, will join CBS News as its chief election and campaign correspondent, a move that shows the often insular ViacomCBS news division luring new talent under its umbrella.
Costa, who was a co-author with Robert Woodward on the recent best-seller “Peril” and logged a three-year stint as moderator of PBS’ “Washington Week,” will join CBS News on Feb. 13 and work out of its Washington bureau. He comes aboard as most big news divisions are gearing up to cover the 2022 midterm elections, which are likely to offer a preview of the next run for the presidency. He has been with the Post as a national political reporter since 2014.
“Bob Costa is one of the best political reporters of his generation,” said Neeraj Khemlani, co-president of ViacomCBS’ news and stations unit, in a statement.

Updated, with additional coverage details: The first anniversary of the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol will be marked by continuous coverage across the broadcast and cable news networks, as reporters and anchors recount the events of that day while sharing plenty of consternation over what has happened since.
The political polarization that has gripped Washington, and much of the country, will be evident by who is expected to participate in commemoration events. Few Republicans are expected, with President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and Senate and House Democratic leaders slated to speak at a ceremony Thursday morning.
Former President Donald Trump, whose false claims that the election was stolen from him led his supporters to storm the Capitol, nixed plans to hold a press conference at Mar-a-Lago that would have been a kind of counterprogramming to the D.C. events. While there were reports that Trump’s...

On This Week with George Stephanopoulos on January 2, Stephanopoulos will interview Rep. Liz Cheney (R-wy), the vice chair of the House’s January 6th Committee, and co-anchor Jonathan Karl will look at the aftermath of the riot. Steve Bannon, President Donald Trump’s former adviser and host of the War Room podcast, is facing a potential criminal contempt charge for refusing to comply with a subpoena brought by the the committee investigating the January 6 siege on the Capitol.
Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Ms), the chairman of the committee, said in a statement on Thursday in which he announced that the select committee would vote on Tuesday whether to adopt a contempt report.
“Mr. Bannon has declined to cooperate with the Select Committee and is instead hiding behind the former President’s insufficient, blanket, and vague statements regarding privileges he has purported to invoke. We reject his position entirely,” Thompson said.
Bannon’s attorney has told the committee that his client would not appear for testimony until the issue of executive privilege is resolved. Trump has asserted executive privilege over records sought by the committee, but the Biden...

“Peril,” by journalists Bob Woodward and Robert Costa, hits shelves next week but is already generating buzz as excerpts and tidbits show what former president Donald Trump’s final days in office were like.
Here are a few takeaways from what has been released so far.
Trump threatened to unfriend former vice president Mike Pence
According to CNN, the book includes details of a meeting between Trump and his vice president on Jan. 5, one day before supporters of the then-president breached the Capitol in a deadly attempt to overturn President Joe Biden’s election win.
Trump’s pressure on Pence to help overturn the election was widely reported at the time, but in the meeting described in the book, the then-president said, “No, no, no! You don’t understand, Mike. You can do this. I don’t want to be your friend anymore if you don’t do this.”

“The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” opened Wednesday’s episode with a gag that channeled the classic cartoon “Johnny Quest” to mock former Vice President Mike Pence.
The background? Pence received a lot of praise earlier this year for refusing to go along with Donald Trump’s attempts to overthrow the government based on lies about voter fraud. Particularly because his decision not to contest certification of Joe Biden’s victory made him a target for execution by the Trump-incited mob that attacked the Capitol on Jan. 6 shouting “Hang Mike Pence.”
Alas, it turns out people may have been too generous in their estimation of Pence. One of the big revelations this week from Bob Woodward and Robert Costa’s upcoming book “Peril” is that Pence actually wanted, very badly, to help Donald Trump throw out the election and undemocratically install himself in a second term in office. According to the Washington Post,...

Supergirl‘s fourth season finale gave “BraiNia” fans the declaration of love they’d been waiting for, but as we all know, those feelings didn’t suddenly materialize overnight. Brainy and Nia’s road to the L-word was a season-long slow burn, one made particularly challenging by Brainy’s inability to express his emotions.
TVLine has an exclusive deleted scene from the “American Dreamer” episode, which found Nia suiting up as National City’s new primary protector. (Lest you forget, Red Daughter had just made Supergirl into Public Enemy No. 1 by attacking the White House.) Despite initially doubting her ability to properly fight crime,...

Massimo Dallamano may be best known to some as the cinematographer of Sergio Leone’s A Fistful of Dollars (1964) and For a Few Dollars More (1965), credited under the pseudonym Jack Dalmas. Following his collaborations with Leone, Dallamano would only serve as cinematographer twice more (his last credit being French director Michel Deville’s 1966 comedy The Mona Lisa Has Been Stolen starring George Chakiris and Marina Vlady). The explosive popularity of the spaghetti western would allow Dallamano to begin his own career as a director, with 1967 debut Bandidos (credited under another pseudonym, Max Dillman), but he’d soon after turn to the bread and butter of more exploitative genre fare. The director of eleven features, up until his death in 1976, Dallamano’s enduring, fascinating masterpiece stands as the 1972 title What Have You Done to Solange? Credited as a giallo staple, Dallamano’s film is more of a hybrid of subgenres, a mixed giallo and poliziotteschi film.

Michel Deville can't, or shouldn't, be considered forgotten, can/should he? He's still alive, and his last film was as recent as 2005 (Un fil à la patte, with Emanuelle Beart). Among his past works available with English subtitles are moderately acclaimed minor classics like On a volé la Joconde (The Mona Lisa Has Been Stolen, 1966), Death in a French Garden (1985), Le paltoquet (1986) and La lectrice (1988)—the last three made back-to-back in the eighties during Deville's hottest period internationally. Although it's hard to figure out how the same filmmaker could be responsible for the variety of Deville's work, which ranges from deadly serious political drama to quirky slapstick. Amid this confusion of disparate styles, Deville tends to disappear the more intently one looks for him.
