PG-13 | | Adventure, Comedy, Drama
A British diplomat to a West Indian island nation finds his idyllic existence thrown into chaos when a large American drilling company finds a huge source of natural mineral water there.
The two tropical island comedies, this movie and Club Paradise (1986), shared several commonalities. Both featured settings that were British Principalities in the Carribean with at least one pompous English government official. Both had reggae connections, Bob Marley in this movie, and Jimmy Cliff in Club Paradise (1986). This was an English movie, and co-starred an American blonde, Brenda Vaccaro, whereas Club Paradise (1986) was an American movie, which co-starred an English blonde, Twiggy. Peter O'Toole is seen in Club Paradise (1986) in a "cocked hat" just as Sir Michael Caine is in this movie. Both movies were released in the U.S. within three months of each other.
