Ellen Ripley is rescued by a deep salvage team after being in hypersleep for 57 years. The moon that the Nostromo visited has been colonized, but contact is lost. This time, colonial marines have impressive firepower, but will that be enough?
Sigourney Weaver had just finished shooting Half Moon Street (1986) two days before Aliens (1986) commenced production.

When the marines are loading the drop-ship aboard the Sulaco, right after Sgt Apone says 'take it away,' to Spunkmeyer, the power-loader pivots - holding a weapon, and a high set light is visible.
The ALIENS title forms slowly during the opening credits. The full title isn't seen until the opening credits are finished, and the "I" illuminates brightly.
After Vasquez and Ripley seal Bishop in the pipe, the aliens confront the other two sentry guns that have been set up in the colony corridors. At the end of the sequence, when Hicks dispatches Hudson and Vasquez (to walk perimeter), some of the shots have been rearranged from the theatrical edition and Hicks' dialogue slightly altered.
