R | | Drama, War
A young soldier in Vietnam faces a moral crisis when confronted with the horrors of war and the duality of man.
During the battle near the church ruins, Big Harold calls out "SHORT!! SHORT ROUNDS!!!" Short Rounds is a term used to describe artillery rounds dropped short of target, and possibly on top of friendly armed forces, another example of Lieutenant Wolfe's incompetence as a combat platoon leader, as he was the one who called in said artillery strike.
Oh, man. Is that what I think it is?
Sergeant: All right, you cheese-dicks, welcome to the Nam. Follow me!
Set in 1967, features Bunny listening to Merle Haggard's "Okie from Muskogee," not released until 1969.
TV version has much of its dialogue redubbed and shots refilmed, replacing such lines as "He thinks he's Jesus F---in' Christ!" with "He thinks he's George Freakin' Washington!"
