The alumni of Commandant Lassard's Police Academy (1984) return to the school to train new recruits and prevent its closure.
The Japanese character Nogata was originally written as a male Indian police cadet named Ramu. This explains why Nogata slept on a bed of nails from New Delhi, and also liked to meditate with his hand over a candle flame.
Lieutenant Debbie Callahan:
You had impressive moves for a cadet.
Cadet Nogata: Thank you. You see, it's a matter of the mind being mightier than the bosom.
Lieutenant Debbie Callahan: Interesting theory.
(at around 5 mins) When the governor makes his speech about closing one of the academies, note the three people in the audience directly behind him. A little girl, a lady, and a man in a tie. When he says "Isn't that true, Commandant Mauser and Commandant Lassard?", the camera supposedly pans to them (who are seated to his left). The same three audience members are somehow directly behind them too.
