It is claimed that Data can't use contractions (Can't, Isn't, Don't, etc) yet there are several instances throughout the series where he does. One of the first such examples is heard in Star Trek: The Next Generation: Encounter at Farpoint (1987), where Data uses the word "Can't" while the Enterprise is being chased by Q's "ship".
"Descent, Part 1" is the only episode of the series to show the episode credits during the teaser.
The first and last episodes were originally broadcast as two-hour TV-movies, and were later re-edited into two one-hour episodes each. Both edits involved removing some scenes from each episode.
