Room Service, Send Up A Room...
... or, to put it another way, Chekhov Adapter leave SOME Chekhov, please.
What is the one-word description of the best-known quality of Chekhov? Right, dix sur dix (you got it in one) MELANCHOLY. Something we look for in vein here. You want SHOUTING? We GOT shouting, you want BRAWLING? Brawling we got. What's that, you want Melancholy, Atmosphere, a sense of lives being wasted, life living YOU and not vice versa? Sorry, we're fresh outta that, buddy, whyent you try across the street, maybe they can help you. Of course no movie with the luminescent Valeria Bruno Tedeschi can be all bad and if you MUST see this see it for her, otherwise ... as you can see, I have reservations. 5/10
