When a crass new-money tycoon's membership application is turned down at a snooty country club, he retaliates by buying the club and turning it into a tacky amusement park.
Reportedly, according to the article "Dangerfield Sued" in the November 4, 1987 edition of the Fort Lauderdale Sun Sentinel, Warner Brothers sued Rodney Dangerfield for refusing to appear in the movie.
Capt. Tom Everett:

When Jack Hartounian is getting ready in his bathroom for a date and drying his hair with a loud revolver shaped hair dryer, the dryer doesn't blow out air at all.
At the start of the movie, Bugs Bunny interrupts and tells the audience to wish him a happy 50th birthday. A very brief animated celebration occurs before the movie starts up again.
Chevy Chase has a line in the commercials which doesn't appear in the movie. After Dan Aykroyd shoots himself with the crossbow, Chevy says "I'm always shooting myself with those poison-tipped crossbow darts. I wonder why they don't put a warning on the package."
