In light of Matt Hardy’s January hotel room, ummm …. “scuffle” with his wife, I thought we’d take this time to look at professional wrestling’s strange relationship with the law. Occasionally people are arrested in storyline such as Stone Cold, The Undertaker and Goldberg, but in the real world, you’d have multiple counts of Grievous Bodily Harm every time there was a hardcore match. And a Public Indecency charge every time Mae Young took her clothes off, God rest her soul.
Every now and then, however, wrestlers get arrested in the very real sense of the word. Most of the time, its for drink or drugs related offences, but then there are those who have committed crimes so heinous that it stains their career forever. Here, we look at 12 times wrestlers did bad things, got caught...

If you have Netflix and are a horror fan in need of something to watch this Labor Day weekend, one look at this gargantuan list I compiled of the new terror titles Netflix has added for instant streaming in just the first three days of this month should keep you busy until Labor Day next year. You'll find something for everyone, from older titles to recent releases, famous to obscure, classic to not-so-classic, monsters to maniacs - you name it.
For the record, I considered compiling this list in alphabetical order or by year of the film's release, but then I realized I had already spent well over an hour just sorting through the massive catalogue of titles Netflix has now made available for instant streaming and realized Labor Day would be over by the time I finished arranging this list in any kind of order. Ready? Here you go.

Most people cannot tell from demeanor or body language when others are lying — this is best left to the experts. From executive producers of “24″ and “Arrested Development” comes “Lie To Me,” a drama of a deception expert who helps uncover the truth for the FBI, local police, law firms, corporations, and individuals. Season two arrives on DVD November 9 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.
“Lie to Me” stars Oscar® nominee Tim Roth (“The Incredible Hulk”, “Reservoir Dogs”) as the cheeky Dr. Cal Lightman, the world’s foremost expert on deception specializing in detecting facial micro-expressions and involuntary body-language to determine if and why someone is lying. Dr. Lightman heads the Lightman Group, a private agency assisting federal law enforcement, government agencies and local police with their most difficult cases. Joining Dr. Lightman in his work is an all-star cast of Dr. Gillian Foster (Kelli Williams, “The Practice”), a gifted psychologist; Eli Loker (Brendan Hines,...

As Fox's Lie to Me prepares to finish off its second season and begin filming its third, British writer Alexander Cary has signed on as showrunner after last month's annoucement that Shawn Ryan would vacate the post.
Zap2It caught up with star Tim Roth to get his take on the shift: "This writer, Alexander Cary, he is a really very, very good writer.... So that's what Shawn did for us in a way is make sure that we were set, and then he moved on."
Cary has served as both a writer and story editor on Lie to Me throughout Season 2, notably penning two of the season's most ambitious episodes, "Grievous Bodily Harm," Roth's personal favorite episode yet, and "Secret Santa," which sent Roth's character Cal Lightman to Afghanistan.

In Counter-Strike, it’s the ultimate diss to get knifed by your opponent in a game primarily dominated by shootouts and nades (that’s grenade spamming for all of you not in the know). When a knife fight occurs, the spectators will laugh at the losing side – and this led one man to want revenge for his loss. Unfortunately, his revenge took place in real life instead of de_dust2.
Julien Barreaux, a 20-year-old Counter-Strike player, informed police he wanted his rival “wiped out” after he lost a virtual knife encounter online. Instead of moving on or getting some virtual payback, Julien told the courts of Cambrai in Northern France that he planned his revenge for 7 months before committing the attack.
It took time for him to scope out his opponent, going by only the first name of Mikhael, who lived 7 miles from Julien’s home. Now folks, here’s...

During the week or so leading up to the start of SXSW 2010, I.ll be providing a glimpse into some of the films I am looking forward to at the festival. SXSW will feature many great films, many more than I can cover, ranging from narrative fiction to documentary, comedy to horror, foreign to animation, independent to studio films.
Synopsis: Joey Frisk is a stand-up comic whose life just stopped being funny. In the most important week of his career, with a talent scout coming to check him out, his ex-wife threatens to take custody of his daughter and his landlord promises to evict him. Joey retaliates that night during his act and threatens the landlord in front of a captive audience. The next morning, his landlord is in the hospital with a fractured skull and Joey is arrested for Grievous Bodily Harm. To make matters worse, he has no memory of what happened.

(S02E05) "It's always the popular ones who think they can get away with murder." - Loker
Easily the best episode of Lie to Me to date, I have to wonder -- I can't be the only out there who's just dying to know more about Cal's past, right? Lennie James guest-starred as Terry Marsh, one of Cal's old crime pals and his arrival created so many questions that have just pushed aside anything else going on at The Lightman Group. Unless Gillian or Loker turn out to be serial killers from past lives, nothing else really matters right now besides Cal's history.
