Ever since Jason Statham shot to stardom, I’ve found myself quite the fan. Whether it’s Crank, The Transporter, or Safe, I dig the guy. And his latest, the David Ayer directed A Working Man, happens to offer a fun time with the on-screen action. Jason Statham portrays Levon Cade, a good dad and a construction worker. However, when a local girl is taken, he decides to help out a friend, and retool his special skills. Yep, the dude has a history in the world of counter-terrorism. The film also stars Michael Pena, Jason Flemyng, and David Harbour.
We recently had the pleasure of speaking one on one with both Mr. Harbour and Mr. Ayer. For David, he discussed working with Ayer and Statham. And while he has a smaller role, the actor commands the screen every single time. As for Ayer, we talked about taking on an action...

With TBS looking to do away with scripted programming due to an overall drop in originals at Warner Bros. Discovery’s cable networks business, late last week it was announced that “American Dad!” would be ending its ten season run on the once well regarded “superstation” and is poised for a return to its former home on Fox as part of the broadcast network’s Animation Domination programming block.
According to Deadline, a deal to have the animated comedy from 20th Television Animation back on Fox is still being finalized and would likely include an order for multiple seasons, starting with Season 20. The show concluded its 19th season finale on Monday, March 24.

Through the late 2000s and the early 2010s, author and cartoonist Jeff Kinney's "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" book series was a force to be reckoned with. Told from the perspective of middle-schooler Greg Heffley, readers would peruse Greg's illustrated journal entries documenting his misadventures with his family, his best friend Rowley Jefferson, and his eccentric classmates. Greg is many young readers' first unreliable protagonist. Although Kinney does not believe Greg is a sociopath, the character exhibits a surprising amount of narcissism for a teenager, often taking advantage of his family and friends if it serves his interests in becoming rich and famous -- even if his schemes usually blow up in his face to comical effect.
Jeff Kinney's knack for writing and illustrating humorous yet relatable middle school experiences has hooked readers and viewers alike. With 19 books published and over 290 million copies sold, "Diary of a Wimpy Kid...

In the annals of TV romances, the one between Pam Beesly (Jenna Fischer) and Jim Halpert (John Krasinski) on the U.S. remake of "The Office" looms particularly large, especially among 21st-century examples. Jim and Pam's courtship was, of course, far from the first will-they-won't-they romance featured in a TV comedy. Still, in the modern era, their gradual evolution from being co-workers at the boring Dunder-Mifflin paper company in Scranton, Pennsylvania to becoming married with kids and living happily ever after is quite special.
Indeed, while it's arguable that the show, as a whole, was past its prime by the time "The Office" ended after nine seasons, the Jim and Pam relationship itself remains a high point of the series. It's also set a bar that other TV shows have had to clear when it comes to establishing a believable possible romance (one that causes viewers to swoon and root...

One of the earliest influencers of Rock & Roll is getting a biopic based on her life and has a big name pop star set to portray her. Lizzo will play Sister Rosetta Tharpe in a musical biopic based on Tharpe’s life, an individual with knowledge of the project told IndieWire.
The film, titled “Rosetta,” is currently in development for Amazon MGM Studios, and Lizzo is also producing the project alongside Kevin Beisler, as well as Nina Yang Bongiovi and Forest Whitaker for their banner Significant Productions. The film will be written by Natalie Chaidez and Kwynn Perry. No director is attached.

On March 24, 2005, NBC aired the first episode of The Office, an American remake of the universally acclaimed, Golden Globe-winning BBC comedy of the same name. The premiere, a mockumentary that introduced the staff of the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company’s branch in Scranton, Pennsylvania, pulled in a decent-sized audience that night. It drew 11.2 million viewers following an episode of The Apprentice — but even with that start, expectations for the show were not high.
NBC had produced a pilot for The Office, written by King of the Hill co-creator Greg Daniels, in early 2004, just after Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant’s BBC show won the Golden Globe for best comedy and Gervais took home the award for best actor in a comedy. The network ordered the show to series that spring but picked up only five more episodes. After premiering on a Thursday, the remaining episodes ran on Tuesday nights, where it struggled.

When people tune into "The Simpsons," there are a few things they expect: social commentary, everyone staying the same age, and couch gags. Since the show's first season, audiences get to see the titular family arrive home and then sit down on their brown couch in some humorous fashion. At first, the gags were simple, like the couch falling apart as soon as they sit down. But after over three decades on the air, "The Simpsons" has needed to up the ante by getting more surreal and complex, like Homer going through a portal and winding up in "Bob's Burgers."
Sadly, anyone who watches a new "Simpsons" episode may be dismayed to find that the couch gag has largely gone away. Season 36's "Shoddy Heat" may have answered how Homer has never lost his job, but the story just starts, which feels... wrong. Couch gags still pop up every so often,...

The joke remains true: if you check into a motel anywhere in America, you can turn on the television and, in no more than three clicks, find a channel that is live-broadcasting an episode of "Law & Order."
More than any other TV show, Dick Wolf's "Law & Order" is an institution, providing more episodes of scripted, primetime TV than any other series to date. It pales in comparison to most daily American soap operas, and falls well behind the Indian farm report "Krishi Darshan," as well as the long-long-running German children's show "Unser Sandmännchen," but "Law & Order" is certainly up there, having produced about 1,383 episodes over 67 seasons of TV.
As of this writing, the extant "Law & Order" shows were released in the following order:
"Law & Order" "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (1999 - present) "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" (2001 - 2011) "Law & Order: Trial By Jury...

"The Simpsons" is a show that's usually a slave to its status quo. Almost nobody in the series grows older and almost nobody's allowed to make major life changes that stick. This is part of why the special non-canon episodes, like the "Treehouse of Horror" specials or those occasional flashback/flashforward stories, are so fun; they're introducing change into a show that so rarely offers any.
But even though life in Springfield has stayed oddly static throughout the past 38 years, major events do happen. Sometimes a character we all know and love will die, and the characters will mourn their death for many seasons afterward. "The Simpsons" doesn't kill off quite as many established characters as some of its competitive shows like "Family Guy," but when they do kill someone off it tends to hit a lot harder. So, here's a list of all the significant deaths in "The Simpsons,...

On a night when half a dozen people made jokes about this being the last-ever Mark Twain Prize, Conan O’Brien made sure the ceremony at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts ended on a high note.
O’Brien accepted the award for lifetime achievement in comedy Sunday night while acknowledging the backstage turmoil that hangs over the future of the cultural center in Washington, D.C.
O’Brien, 61, was named the 26th recipient of the Mark Twain Prize in mid-January, about three weeks before President Donald Trump upended the Kennedy Center by ousting longtime president Deborah Rutter and board chairman David Rubenstein. Trump dismissed the board of trustees and replaced them with loyalists, who then elected him chairman.
On Sunday, O’Brien specifically thanked Rubenstein and Rutter — drawing an extended round of applause — and also Kennedy Center staffers who, he said, were “worried about what the future might bring.

Nancy Cartwright has made enough money playing Bart Simpson to buy as many elephants and all-syrup Squishees as she pleases. But over the course of her career, the actress has lent her voice to a ton of other projects, including classic shows such Animaniacs, Rugrats and Kim Possible, as well as less-than-classic shows like the Saturday morning cartoon adaptation of Problem Child that nobody remembers.
But perhaps most surprisingly, it was Cartwright’s voice that traumatized a generation of kids in the iconic ‘80s family film Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
For those who don’t remember, or who have actively suppressed the memory, when the evil Judge Doom is explaining his plan to control the toon population using a lethal toxic substance known as “Dip,” he demonstrates its effects with a helpless animated shoe. And we were all forced to watch as the poor little guy is slowly, painfully dissolved...

"The Simpsons" debuted shortly before Christmas in 1989, which means anyone under the age of 35 has never known a world without it. "The Simpsons" wasn't just a hit, but a cultural fulcrum point. Matt Groening's cynical worldview, filtered through an animated takedown of traditional American sitcoms, came to define the prevailing attitudes of the nation in the 1990s. We were over-educated, embittered by the excesses of the Reagan years, and ready to see television mutate into something punky and deconstructionist. "The Simpsons" was at the heart of that.
And then, even as the 1990s ended, "The Simpsons" never dipped in quality, turning out a full decade of invaluable TV comedy. While public attitudes shifted in the early 2000s ("shock" humor and post-9/11 despair came to define the era), "The Simpsons" persisted. The makers of the show found they could simply keep on working for as long as audiences were interested.

Seth MacFarlane (and Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman)'s adult animated comedy is coming home. American Dad!, the long-running TBS series, is poised to make its return to basic cable when its forthcoming 20th season airs on Fox. For fans of the cartoon, the move follows what seems to be a trend for MacFarlane's animated properties, as his original breakout — Family Guy — made a similar jump back to its home network following some time away.
The news was reported in an exclusive to Deadline, which explains the American Dad! jump as something that's long been in the works. We're talking since the early days of the Warner Bros. Discovery merger. American Dad! was the first series to debut on Fox's Animation Domination programming block when it launched in 2005, so its return to the network makes a lot of sense. Fox is looking to add another show to its animation lineup — by bringing one of its former series back to the network.
The broadcaster is close to making a deal with 20th Television Animation, which produces American Dad!, to return the show to the network, sources say. The show, created by Seth MacFarlane, Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman, began its life on Fox before moving to TBS in 2014, where it has run for 10 seasons and more than 200 episodes.
Fox declined comment.
The show’s current two-season with TBS, which dates back to 2021, will end with Monday’s season finale. Should the deal with Fox go through, it would likely be for a multi-season order, allowing the series to have a relatively seamless transition to delivering new episodes at its once and possibly future home.

The adult animated series American Dad! is packing its bags and could head for a return trip home! According to Deadline, the upcoming Season 19 finale for Seth MacFarland’s American Dad! will serve as a network finale for TBS. The final, new episode of the animated comedy airs on Monday, March 24 at 10/9c, with plans to continue hosting reruns of past seasons in the aftermath. Additionally, reruns will continue to screen on Adult Swim.
Thankfully, the show isn’t going anywhere. American Dad! could return to Fox after leaving TBS, starting with the launch of its 20th season. “American Dad!” could soon be airing on Fox — again.
Variety has confirmed that 20th Television Animation and Fox Entertainment are nearing a deal to bring the long-running animated sitcom back to the broadcast network on which it launched in 2005. The deal would most likely be a multi-season pickup. The show has aired for nearly 400 episodes to date.

Reruns of “American Dad!” will continue to air on TBS and fellow Warner Bros. Discovery networks Adult Swim and TruTV until at least 2030. The show was last picked up for two seasons at TBS in 2021, prior the completion of the Warner Bros. Discovery merger.

Exclusive: American Dad! is coming home. According to sources, the comedy, created by Seth MacFarlane, Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman, would air on Fox starting with its upcoming 20th season, marking the second MacFarlane animated series to return to the network following a break after Family Guy did it two decades ago.
The move of American Dad!, which has been airing on TBS since 2014, had been in the works for months, allowing the 20th Television Animation-made series to remain in production, I hear. Like on TBS, where American Dad! is coming off a string of two-year renewals, the pickup by Fox — now being finalized — is expected to be for multiple seasons. Reps for Fox and 20th TV Animation declined comment.
American Dad!‘s migration to Fox was fueled by the $1.5B deal extension Fox Entertainment and Hulu closed in November that keeps the broadcast network’s shows on the Disney streaming platform in-season.

Apart from The Simpsons Movie, Bart Simpson really isn’t in any other feature films. That being said, thanks to the show’s Spaceballs-esque penchant for excessive merchandising, Bart’s image has shown up in a few non-Simpson movies, such as 1991’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze, which included a prominently placed Bart Simpson-branded glass.
But while Ninja Turtles II was a family film, a far more unexpected pseudo-cameo from Bart occurred in a movie released the following year: the blockbuster erotic thriller Basic Instinct, which featured Sharon Stone, Michael Douglas and, if you saw it in a theater in the ‘90s, hundreds of horny moviegoers.
The film concerns a homicide detective (Douglas) investigating a series of ice pick murders seemingly committed by a famous author (Stone). Oddly, the police psychologist who’s having an affair with Douglas, Dr. Beth Garner (played by Jeanne Tripplehorn...

Family Guy superfans have seen at least some of the show’s 1998 pilot — seven minutes of Seth MacFarlane’s pitch have been included on DVDs in years past. But internet sleuths on the lookout for lost media recently uncovered the full 16 minutes, posting it to YouTube for the world to see.
Thank Redditor GhostTheDeadGirl for the find, buried on the web page of animator Robert Paulsen. “I actively searched for and found his portfolio page and the pilot was there,” she posted on Reddit. “I uploaded it to YouTube originally, as well as the internet archive.”
Can we get a round of high-fives?
Watch the pilot and you’ll see that several of the show’s trademarks were baked into the original recipe:

Even though the domination of animation continues on the small screen with hits like The Simpsons, Family Guy, Bob's Burgers, and more, one of the most popular fan-favorite adult animated comedies will be headed to a new home very soon. History's repeating itself for American Dad!, which TV Line exclusively reports ends its run on TBS after its upcoming season 21 finale.
The American Dad! season 21 finale airs on Monday, March 24 at 10/9c, and according to TV Line, the finale also marks the end of its time as a first-run TBS original series. If you're wondering why the series has gotten the boot from the cable network, it likely has to do with the Warner Bros. Discovery merger that took effect after TBS ordered a two-season renewal back in 2021.
American Dad! doesn't fall under the Warner Bros. Discovery umbrella as a series hailing from 20th Television Animation, which is owned by Disney.

As hard as it is to believe, the writers of The Simpsons didn’t plan out the storylines for all 36 plus seasons of the show back in the late ‘80s. While that hasn’t really been an issue for a half-hour cartoon that’s perpetually frozen in time, one of the show’s early flash-forward episodes now contains a continuity error that may or may not have been caused by a wizard.
“Lisa’s Wedding” from Season Six began with a renaissance fair fortune teller showing Lisa a vision of her future, which includes a fiancé named Hugh. Sadly, the episode ends with the two breaking up just before the ceremony, because it turns out that this particular psychic specializes in relationships “where you get jerked around.”
When Patty and Selma arrive at the futuristic wedding, we get a brief glimpse of an elderly Ned and Maude Flanders:
Which doesn’t make sense.

In a splashy 20-minute segment at Disney’s annual shareholder meeting, CEO Bob Iger touted a handful of high-priority film and TV projects as the company looks to maintain its recent studio momentum.

Iger said he has seen “an early cut” of the upcoming third installment of director James Cameron’s billion-dollar Avatar franchise. “I can tell you that it is absolutely breathtaking,” he said.
While no new images or footage was revealed from the three-hour-plus Cameron epic, which will bow December 19, a “special extended look” at Lilo & Stitch was shown during the livestreamed meeting. It was a...

Who’s the most legendary movie icon to lend a voice on The Simpsons?
Given the show’s 36 seasons, there’s plenty of competition for that accolade, including Meryl Streep, Dustin Hoffman and Kirk Douglas. But for pure Hollywood glamour, it’s hard to beat Elizabeth Taylor, the voice behind Maggie Simpson’s first word. “She lived up to everything you would expect Elizabeth Taylor to be,” Simpsons executive producer Al Jean told Entertainment Weekly in 2011. “She came in, she had a little dog, and she wore her ring, which was huge. It cost more than my house.”
Everyone on The Simpsons remembers the huge crowd of staffers that showed up on the day that Taylor recorded Maggie’s first word. “Liz created the biggest stir of any guest we’ve had on the show,” remembered writer Mike Reiss in his book Springfield Confidential. “Three hundred people packed our tiny...

Not every film with good reviews becomes a major commercial hit, and not all films with bad reviews are unpopular. Just like last year there have been a series of examples, including Furiosa: A Mad Max Story, The Fall Guy, and Red One.
Now, Netflix's latest film The Electric State is experiencing a similar trend. Although the film didn't receive a theatrical release and it headed straight to Netflix, the early reviews ahead of the Mar. 14 release called it "one of the worst movies of the year." The official numbers prove otherwise, as Tudumcrowns The Electric State the biggest film of the week.
For the week between Mar. 10 and 16,The Electric State amassed 25.2 million views and 53.8 million hours viewed. That is a huge feat considering the movie had only 2 full days to achieve that before Netflix stopped counting.
It became the No. 1 movie in 47 countries, including the U.S.

If you want to spend your days watching nothing but The Simpsons then Disney has got just the place for you!
There are now two generations who have never known a world without The Simpsons. From its humble beginnings as brief cartoons on The Tracy Ullman Show in the late 1980s to the premiere of the animated show in 1990, The Simpsons isn’t just a show, it’s a cultural institution.
It’s astounding the series shows no signs of slowing down. Viewers just can’t get enough of Homer, Barge, Bart, Lisa, Maggie and the rest of the strange gang in Springfield going on wild misadventures that often mock pop culture and society.
For years, The Simpsons was owned by Fox, meaning Disney couldn’t use them. They did have a presence at Universal Studios, with the Orlando park boasting the great Simpsons ride and recreated Springfield area (right...

Good news for people who love The Simpsons, hate sunlight and have access to a catheter: Disney just announced that their streaming service launched a 24/7 streaming channel dedicated to Springfield’s most famous family.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the channel will begin by airing seasons one through thirty-five in chronological order, before likely pivoting to a more random schedule in the future. “From day one, the fans have asked for a stream of The Simpsons, and we’re happy to oblige,” Disney+’s senior vice president said in a statement, presumably before cackling like the demon who presented Homer with “all the donuts in the world.”
This news does raise two important questions: One, how long would it take to watch the stream of the entire show? And two, would that be medically advisable?
Reportedly, the stream will contain a whopping 767 episodes, meaning that it won’t include any...

The 1990s was a fantastic decade for television. It’s this decade that brought viewers gems like Beverly Hills, 90210, Friends, Twin Peaks, The X-Files, and The Simpsons. Those shows inspired so many others that have come since. A few were resurrected for additional seasons or sequel shows more than a decade later, and one is even still airing to this day.

Streaming isn't exactly like old school TV, but Disney+ is doing its part to help bridge the gap between the two ideas. As of today, Disney's flagship streaming service has added a new 24/7 stream of "The Simpsons." This always-on streaming channel includes a whopping 767 episodes across all 35 seasons of the show, which will air in chronological order at launch. That equates to roughly 300 continuous hours. Buckle up.
"The Simpsons" has produced some of the greatest episodes of TV of all time dating back to its debut in the late '80s. On Tuesday, Disney+ embiggened its Simpsons quotient with the launch of a 24 hour, seven days a week dedicated stream of all 35 completed seasons of the iconic animated series. (The 36th season is currently airing.)
The always-on stream of TV’s longest-running animated hit is a dream come true for millions of fans of the beloved show, which has been broadcast into homes nationwide on Sunday nights since it premiered in 1991. The sharp-witted and dry humor of the series has helped weave the show’s humor and sensibility into the fabric of American culture, as the series gained second and third lives with nearly constant cable TV reruns airing across several networks for years. Homer Simpsonfrom The Simpsons has been reimagined in a 3D simulation featuring various amounts of hair, showing what he might look like if he hadn't famously ripped it all out. As the clumsy yet well-meaning patriarch, Homer's most defining features are his round beard, belly, and bald head, which sports just two strands of hair on top. Created by Matt Groening and primarily voiced by Dan Castellaneta, the character has been a television icon since the show's debut in 1989, with his design remaining largely unchanged throughout the 36-season run.
On Instagram, @blik3d shared a video of Homer with various simulated hair ranging from one single strand to a whole head of curly locks. The video playfully depicts alternate versions of the beloved character, from a shaggy wolf-cut to a crimped hairstyle that completely changes the Simpson character's iconic look. There are still a lot of Fox shows sitting on the bubble in 2025, which isn’t surprising for this time of the year. A lot of the renewals and cancellations come just ahead of the May Upfronts.
This is a chance to look at the shows that are airing right now. We can make a prediction on the Fox shows that could be canecled or renewed, using the linear ratings for the most part. Of course, Fox looks at more than just the linear ratings, but this is a strong indication of a show’s future.
So far, four Fox shows have been renewed: Universal Basic Guys, Doc, Murder in a Small Town, and Krapopolis. One show has come to an end, 911: Lone Star. That’s a lot still on the bubble!

Those episodes will play in chronological order, meaning fans can look forward to almost 300 continuous hours of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie. If you’ve ever wanted to throw on an episode of “The Simpsons” but have felt too overwhelmed to comb through the literal hundreds of options, now you can just press play and let Disney+ take the wheel. The stream will be available to Premium Disney+ subscribers and will be refreshed monthly.

John Cena didn’t have a great year at the movies in 2024. His films like Ricky Stanicky and Jackpot! were nothing more than time-killers. However, he had a couple of interesting cameo appearances, notably in the third season of The Bear and the 36th season of The Simpsons. Hopefully, he is about to change that with his upcoming films.
We’re going to see Cena more in WWE instead of the movies this year, as he has announced his retirement from professional wrestling after 2025. However, fans will eventually get to see him in some action-packed and comedy films.

His movie slate ranges from the action-comedy film Heads of State to the long-gestating The Janson Directive. He will also reprise his DC anti-hero role in the second season of James Gunn’s Peacemaker. Cena is set to appear in the following movies next.

This is a huge accomplishment, as a jury chooses the Primetime Creative Emmy Awards in the Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation category. Since there are no nominees like in the regular process, Redondo was specifically picked to be among the group, winning for Production Design. Jesse Colin Young, The Youngbloods frontman and bassist who sang the counterculture classic “Get Together” and went on to a long solo career, died March 16 at his home in Aiken, Sc. He was 83. His publicist Michael Jensen announced the news but did not provide a cause of death.
The Boston-based Youngbloods released their self-titled debut album on RCA Victor in early 1967, but its first single, “Grizzly Bear,” stalled in the mid-50s of the Billboard Hot 100. The disc’s second single was “Get Together,” but it fared even less well, peaking at No. 62 at the end of the Summer of Love.
Despite playing on American Bandstand, the band appeared destined for also-ran status.
Then came the use of “Get Together” in a 1969 PSA for the National Conference of Christians and Jews, and folks started calling radio stations to request the song.
