  • The script by Jack Higgins elevates this movie about the mundane. Good cinematography and lush Irish back drop add to the movie's qualities. Keith and Valentina do a good job of acting, but Robert Lindsay's performance is worth the look.
  • Correction: It is not David Carradine, but his brother Keith. Simon Chandler is much more handsome in 1989 than his current photo. A still photo from this movie would be a useful addition to his profile. He had hair then. This movie is hard to find on DVD. I watch it on an old VHS copied to my computer. The quality is pretty poor. It's a real classic. I watched it on tape years ago, and then found the novel. I am watching the movie again and then I'll read the book again.
  • Having seen this tv movie when it was first released over ten years ago, this still stays as one of the ten best movies I have ever seen. From the brilliant writing of Jack Higgins to the explosive performance of Robert Lindsay as the IRA terrorist, and with good solid supporting performances, most notably that of David Carradine, this is a not-to-be missed movie that should be on everyone's list to watch.
