Three of the lead actors in this film have shared a film role with their own real-life sons. Harrison Ford's son Ben was used in digital face replacement for the 30th anniversary version of Blade Runner (1982). He also shares his own role in this film with River Phoenix, who played his son in The Mosquito Coast (1986). Sean Connery played Robin Hood in Robin and Marian (1976), a role that Jason Connery would play in Robin Hood (1984). John Rhys-Davies also appeared in that series as King Richard, a role played by Connery in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991). Julian Glover previously appeared (with Ford) in Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980). His character, General Veers, was later voiced by his son Jamie Glover in the Star Wars video games.
