After a single, career-minded woman is left on her own to give birth to the child of a married man, she finds a new romantic chance in a cab driver. Meanwhile, the point-of-view of the newborn boy is narrated through voice-over.
Geena Davis was considered for the role of Mollie. But Davis turned it down, because she couldn't handle shooting a movie involving a birth sequence, especially with her birth sequence in The Fly (1986).
We're gonna go see Daddy today!
Mikey: Oh great, I was just thinking about James.
Mollie: You HAVE to look fantastic.
Mollie: Which do you think, the blue or the lamb?
Mikey: Well, neither - they both look pretty lame.
Mollie: The lamb, right?
Mikey: Not "lamb." "LAME."
After Mikey finishes making the statues fight, the small statue on the back is leaning one way, then in another shot it's leaning the other way.
James brings Mikey to see his new sister: Mollie: "Hi honey." James: "Mikey, this is your sister Julie." Mollie: "Hi Julie." Mikey: "Hi Julie." Julie (voice of Joan Rivers): "Don't start with me kid. I've had a day you wouldn't believe. Can we talk?"
