When Clark is putting up the lights outside, the top section of the ladder gives way and slides to the ground. However, since the lower half of the ladder isn't leaning against anything, there is no way that the ladder could slide this way without falling forward into the house.
The opening credits feature a cartoon of Santa delivering the Griswold family's Christmas presents while also getting electrocuted, hit by bricks, setting his pants on fire, falling into the snow and being chased by a rolling snowman head
The Warner Bros. logo with the Warner Communications byline can be found on the theatrical and VHS releases and the 1997 DVD release, but the 2003 DVD has the 1998 logo with the AOL Time Warner byline.
