Experienced Green Beret sergeant Johnny Gallagher is escorting a prisoner, Airborne Ranger Thomas Boyette, back to the US, but Boyette escapes and Gallagher must risk life and limb to catch him.
After this movie, Tommy Lee Jones was considered for the role of hero Frank Horrigan in the movie "In the Line of Fire." It was also an assassination movie, and he would work again with costar John Heard in one scene. But the director Wolfgang Petersen and the crew favored Clint Eastwood.
