A streetwise, poor young man from Philadelphia is sent by his mother to live with his aunt, uncle and cousins in their Bel-Air mansion.
The show was actually cancelled during its fourth season, with The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air: The Philadelphia Story (1994) serving as the finale. The overwhelming response, with viewers writing in by the truckload to NBC and Will Smith, convinced the network to go back on this decision, allowing it to run for what became two more seasons.
I can't do this anymore.
Will: Look, me neither! I mean, getting woke up in the middle of the night by a naked man running around the house!
Geoffrey: I'm sorry! I thought you were all asleep!
Will: Not you, G...
Geoffrey: Oh, never mind!
Vivian Banks: Look, now, everybody calm down. False ...
In the first season, Hilary is discussing interviews with Geoffrey. Geoffrey asks her what her name is, and she replies "Hilary S. Banks". But, in the second season, when Baby Nicky is about to be born, Will's mother grabs Hilary and refers to her middle name as being Violet.
Opening credits are shown as graffiti.
