A young pilot finds himself recruited unwittingly into a covert and corrupt C.I.A. airlift organization operating in Vietnam War-era Laos.
The production rented twenty-six planes from the Thailand military for use in the movie.
There are *no* American combat forces in Laos.
In opening scenes a C-123 is shown dropping cargo from it lowered gate in the tail end of the fuselage. In the next camera scene it is shown nearing the ground and going through the roof of a hut. It is shown going straight down. In the case of an air drop, all such cargo would be dropping at an angle, and not straight down.
In the USA network version not only are most of the swears edited out, but also the reference to a "Jap" airstrip. The word "Jap", short for Japanese, was dropped due to fear of it possibly being interpreted as a racial slur.
