The film has been compared to Billy Wilder's Some Like It Hot (1959). Britmovie states that the film is "Billy Wilder's Some Like It Hot (1959) in habits" whilst 'Movies on TV & Videocassette' said that the film was "if Some Like It Hot (1959) were remade with the 'Carry On' cast".
