“…something totally not excellent is happening in the world of ‘Street Fighter: Duel’. ‘M. Bison’ has teamed up with the arch nemesis of the ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’— ‘Shredder’.
“Now, the ‘Foot Clan’ threaten to overwhelm ‘Ryu’, ‘Chun-Li’ and the rest of the ‘World Warriors’.
“Can they rely on the help of ‘Leonardo’, ‘Michelangelo’, ‘Raphael’ and ‘Donatello’ to save the day? Will ‘Blanka’ get along with these fellow green heroes or is the world doomed? “

When the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin comic book started coming out, it was a major hit for Idw Publishing, as well as a major moment in the evolution of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise overall. The comic book was written by Kevin Eastman, Peter Laird, and Tom Waltz, and showed us a dark and grim future in which Michelangelo survived as the only remaining turtle. The story was enormously popular and it seems now that a live-action movie adaptation of the comic book is in the works.
The news comes after last year’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem proved to be a major hit, and while Mutant Mayhem was an animated feature, it doesn’t seem like The Last Ronin will go in that same direction.

Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have unveiled their latest film score. Today, the duo released Challengers [Mixed] by Boys Noize, the score for Luca Guadagnino’s upcoming film remixed as a contentious DJ set by Boys Noize.
Spanning 28 minutes, Challengers [Mixed] sees Boys Noize reimagine the nine songs Reznor and Ross made for the score, adding additional production and leaning into its synth-driven, electronic feel. The duo “hand-selected” Boys Noize for the project.
“It’s been a fun challenge to turn this into one fluid experience and take it even further by redesigning the tracks, creating new elements and changing certain parts,” Boys Noize said in a statement. “Especially on ‘Compress / Repress,’ which turns super epic in the end. Working with Trent and Atticus has been a dream come true; they’ve been so great and helpful during the entire process.” Stream the album below.

Since their debut in the 1980s, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have grown into a permanent fixture in popular culture. From their catchy theme song to the four anthropomorphic turtle brothers, Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael, the franchise has touched the hearts of fans of all ages.
And now, with the news of a reboot on the horizon, Paramount has confirmed to be developing a live-action, R-rated film based on the gripping comic book miniseries Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin. So, who is in charge of guiding this vision?
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin
To put it mildly, Zack Snyder seems like the perfect person to bring these Ninja heroes back to the big screen. His work on movies like 300 and Man of Steel mirrors his ability to create epic and thrilling battles, which would make him a great match for the turtles’ ninja skills and unique fighting styles.

Oscar winner Damien Chazelle has set his next feature with Paramount.
The La La Land filmmaker wrote and will direct the feature, with plot details being kept under wraps. The movie is being produced under Chazelle and Olivia Hamilton’s Wild Chickens Productions banner, as part of their first look deal with the studio that was signed in 2022. Plot details are not yet known and talent has yet to be attached but the project is a priority for the studio.
Chazelle is acting as a producer on another Paramount feature: the David Ayer directed Heart of the Beast. Heart of the Beast also falls under his first-look pact with Paramount.

In the latest of “thing from your childhood turned dark, gritty, and violent” news, a new live-action, R-rated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie is in development, as The Hollywood Reporter details.
Adapting the popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin storyline, the film is set to be quite a pivot from last year’s successful animated feature Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. Tyler Burton Smith — co-writer of the upcoming Boy Kills World and 2019’s Child’s Play — is set to helm the script, while Paramount Pictures will oversee.
Despite its cartoony connotation, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise has surprising precedent for more adult-oriented stories. The original 1984 series launched as a black and white independent comic and was both inspired by and poking fun at the work of Frank Miller, Chris Claremont, and ’80s Marvel. Subsequent toy deals, televised cartoons, and the 1990s films helped to foster a more child-friendly,...

After the success of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, inspiring a sequel and animated series, Paramount Pictures continues to go all in on Turtle Power. THR reports that the studio is now developing a new R-rated, live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.
The live-action movie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin, an adaptation of the bestselling Idw comic miniseries of the same name. It’ll mark the first R-rated feature film for the franchise.

Paramount hasn’t even started their CinemaCon session yet and news is breaking like flies on a rib roast.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin based on the fan-fave graphic novel is in the works with Tyler Burton Smith writing and Walter Hamada producing through his 18hz production company, as part of his multi-year deal with the studio. The movie will be the first R-rated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Hopefully, there won’t be any naughty scenes involving turtles ala Fritz the Cat.
Smith recently co-wrote the upcoming Roadside Attractions R-rated action movie Boy Kills World which hits theaters on April 26.
Last Ronin was published as a miniseries between 2020 and 2022 and is set in a totalitarian future New York City as the Turtles and their master Splinter are assassinated by the grandson of their prime villain Shredder and his posse. One of the Turtles survives and swears revenge.

The 40-year-old, kid-friendly franchise Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is returning to movie theaters in live action, in a project that Paramount Pictures is targeting instead for adults.
The studio is developing the bloody and intense graphic novel series “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin” with screenwriter Tyler Burton Smith (“Boy Kills World”) and Walter Hamada’s 18hz production company through his multi-year deal. The 2020-2022 miniseries — written by original “Turtles” creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, with Eastman and Tom Waltz developing the script — is set in a bleak, dystopian future in which Oroku Hiroto, the grandson of the Turtles’ arch-nemesis, Shredder, rules New York City as a totalitarian despot. Hiroto has killed all but one of the Turtles, as well as their mentor, Splinter; the remaining Turtle seeks revenge by wielding all four of their signature weapons.

The "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" franchise has been rolling and evolving non-stop since the original Mirage Studios comic book series was adapted into an animated series in 1987 and a live-action blockbuster movie in 1990, which essentially created the modern superhero comedy. Since then, there have been a variety of sequels and reboots in film and television, including the stellar animated overhaul that impressed the hell out of us in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem" last year. But we're about to get another live-action "Tmnt" movie that will adapt one of the darkest comic book storylines in the franchise's history.
Paramount Pictures will be turning the hit comic book miniseries "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin" into a live-action movie. This is a huge deal, especially since The Hollywood Reporter says it'll be R-rated, a first for the franchise. Tyler Burton Smith is set to write the screenplay, with Walter Hamada producing.

I'll never forget the day a doctor told me that I had bipolar disorder. Although I was smart and well-versed enough to know, cognitively, that Alex Forrest in "Fatal Attraction" was a problematic example of how a person living with bipolar disorder behaves, I couldn't shake the immediate fear in my soul that this diagnosis meant that I was going to be just like her. Still sexy as hell, obviously, but also the type of person who would stalk a one-night stand, kill their family pet, and pour acid on their car. Fortunately, in the years since my diagnosis, a slew of celebrities have been open about their own diagnoses. Carrie Fisher's memoir "Wishful Drinking" is arguably the highest-profile example, but Mariah Carey, David Harbour, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Linda Hamilton, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and legendary Beach Boys founder Brian Wilson have all spoken candidly about how bipolar disorder impacts their lives.

Spider-Man: The Animated Series was a cartoon staple back in the days. Running from 1994 to 1998, the five-season animated series had a successful run. John Semper was the writer and showrunner, who already had experience running shows before Spider-Man: Tas fell into his lap. Speaking about the standards & practices that had to be followed by the shows back then, Semper revealed some bizarre notes he had gotten while making the show.
Spider-Man (1994) | Marvel Entertainment
S&P notes are nothing new to the industry. Every show has them, every show-runner gets them, and they have to be followed, at least to some extent. John Semper already had experience running shows before he was roped in to work on Spider-Man: Tas, so he already had prior idea on how these shows needed to be, but that didn’t mean he waa exempt from getting handed some really weird and bizzare S&P notes.

Ezra Miller’s role in Prime Video’s Invincible has seemingly been recast in the wake of the actor’s controversies leading up to the release of The Flash.
In season one of the animated series, Miller, who uses they/them pronouns, voiced District Attorney Sinclair, a genius who attended Upstate University and believes that human weaknesses can be solved by engineering. After being defeated by the Invincible team, he returns in this week’s episode of season two, “I’m Not Going Anywhere.”
This time around, however, it appears the mad scientist is no longer voiced by Miller but instead by Eric Bauza. The actor has more than 350 voice credits, including X-Men ’97, Krapopolis, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Rick & Morty.
The Hollywood Reporter has reached out to Miller’s rep and Prime Video for comment.

After The Flash actor Ezra Miller faced a string of controversies, it seems that Amazon’s Invincible opted to play it safe and replace the actor with voice acting legend Eric Bauza. And it appears, Prime Video executed this change rather subtly, as Miller had previously voiced the character, Mad Scientist Da Sinclair who first appeared in the episode called You Look Kinda Dead in Season 1. However, when Sinclair reappeared in the latest episode of the series, the character was voiced by Bauza. But who is Eric Bauza?

Eric Bauza is somewhat of a big deal in voice acting, known for voicing famous characters like Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck from Looney Tunes. Originally from Scarborough, Toronto, he has now become essentially an A-lister in the industry. Apart from Looney Tunes, he’s worked on a bunch of...

Ezra Miller is being replaced in a superhero project — but maybe not the one people were expecting.
The embattled star of The Flash has been recast in Season 2 of Prime Video’s animated superhero series Invincible. Miller played D.A. Sinclair, a genius scientist who created an army of cyborgs known as “ReAnimen,” in the freshman season, but when Sinclair appeared in this week’s Season 2 episode, he was voiced by Eric Bauza, who also does voices for Looney Tunes, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the new Disney+ series X-Men ’97. (Entertainment Weekly first reported the switch.)

Earlier this month, it was announced that Platinum Dunes, the production company headed up by Michael Bay and Bradley Fuller, are teaming up with director Jonathan Liebesman – who they previously worked with on the Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning and their 2014 version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – to make a werewolf movie called Wolf Night. Now Deadline reports that Wolf Night has found a home at Sony’s Screen Gems.

We had learned about an interesting horror project earlier this month titled Wolf Night, a werewolf movie set to be directed by Jonathan Liebesman. The film has been compared to both District 9 and The Purge… with werewolves… and Deadline brings us a big update this week.
The hot Platinum Dunes package has been picked up by Screen Gems, Deadline informs us, with Michael Bay and Brad Fuller producing Wolf Night for Platinum Dunes.
Will Honley and April Maguire wrote the screenplay for Wolf Night, but aside from the comparisons to the aforementioned movies, the plot is under wraps at this time.
Jonathan Liebesman’s directorial credits over the years also include Rings (2005), The Killing Room (2009), Wrath of the Titans (2012), and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014).
Will Honley recently wrote Escape Room: Tournament of Champions.

The most popular Battle Royale ever keeps betting on adding new content almost weekly. Fortnite has a lot of things planned for tomorrow. Apparently, Fortnite will add things like Avatar Korra content and quests, and Midas will also have the addition of a mythic weapon.
Fans are very excited about this content with collaborations for Lego and even the clothing brand Nike. The protagonists of the season, the gods, will have new and extraordinary styles that are not part of the common battle pass. This leaks 80% of the time and ends up being real, especially with Fortnite.

Paramount+ has unveiled the first six episodes of Ark: The Animated Series, which are now streaming on the service as of today. But the first season won’t be limited to just this batch, as a second part to the season will host seven more episodes, although the release date for those has yet to be announced.
While I haven’t played the source video game (Ark: Survival Evolved), the voice cast for Ark: The Animated Series definitely piques interest, as it hosts Oscar winners, fan favorites and even Doctors…The partial cast list includes Madeleine Madden, Michelle Yeoh, Russell Crowe, Gerard Butler, Jeffrey Wright, David Tennant, Elliot Page, Vin Diesel, Karl Urban, and more.
While that is a seriously impressive cast, perhaps the biggest draw for some is that Ark will be scored by the game’s composer Gareth Coker, who also provided the gorgeous music for Ori and...

The '90s gave us some of the best kids' show theme songs of all time, from "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers" to "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air." But even those classic examples couldn't quite match the sheer ear-wormery of the opening titles to "X-Men: The Animated Series." The beloved Fox Kids show didn't even need lyrics to embed itself in the collective cortex of a generation, who can surely recall its dynamic, synthesized tones in a split second.
Now, Disney has decided to tap into that reservoir of nostalgia with "X-Men '97," an animated streaming show that apes the original's distinctive visual style and picks up where its 1997 series finale left off. Everything we've seen in the lead-up to its release points to a faithful revival, with the easter egg-filled "X-Men '97" trailer promising a show that not only feels aesthetically akin to the original but brings back plenty of the Og voice actors.

X-Men ‘97, the latest project from Marvel Studios’ animation department, is set to take fans back to the golden age of Mutant storytelling. The show is a follow-up to X-Men: The Animated Series, which ran from 1992 until 1997. While fans will fondly remember this Saturday morning cartoon mainstay, it’s hard to ignore the impact that the arcade game also had around this same era.
Konami’s X-Men launched in 1992 and has succeeded in creating a legacy that is intrinsically linked to the Mutant mayhem of the 90s. So how did X-Men actually contribute to the popularity of the team? Well to work that out, we first have to go back to the beginning.
The X-Men’s Origins & Rise
The first X-Men comic debuted in 1963. With the incredible Stan Lee and Jack Kirby collaborating on the comic, history was made and a series of characters were born that would forever shape Marvel’s storytelling.

So many actors have their beginnings on the stage, doing routines that might seem cringe but are 100% part of who they are: a pre-teen Ryan Gosling with those retro dance moves and Mc Hammer pants, Rodney Alcala smoothly winning over the ladies on The Dating Game and – Ok, maybe that second one doesn’t quite qualify. But here’s another that does: Alan Ritchson on American Idol. That’s right, the star of Reacher once tried to make it big by wooing Paula Abdul.
While Alan Ritchson moved onto Hollywood during the third season of American Idol, he was ultimately cut, with the eventual winner being Fantasia Barrino, who we should note is not a small screen action hero. This article contains spoilers for Invincible season 2 episode 5.
The best comic book superheroes tend to stick around awhile. DC’s Batman has been fighting crime in Gotham City since 1939. Marvel’s Spider-Man has been slinging webs since 1962. Even the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, originally launched as a satire of the genre in 1984, are now an established squad and have been for some time.
Along with that longevity, however, often comes an uncertain continuity. There are dozens of versions of Batman, Spider-Man, and the Tmnt that exist across countless storylines in comics, television, film, and beyond. One recent comic book character, however, has no such uncertain continuity. There’s only Invincible … give or take a few infinite multiverses.

Los Angeles, CA – Eight-time Emmy Award winner Andrea Romano further cemented her reputation as the greatest voiceover director in animation history on Sunday night when she was inducted into the prestigious Children’s & Family Emmys’ inaugural Silver Circle during a ceremony at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel.
The Silver Circle recognizes those professionals who have performed distinguished service within the television industry for 25 years or more. But the recognition goes well beyond their longevity – they are honored for making an enduring contribution to the vitality of the television industry and for setting standards of achievement the rest of the industry hopes to emulate. These honorees also give back to the community as mentors, educators and volunteers.
“This industry has given me so much, from wonderful relationships with actors and marvelously creative individuals throughout the animation world to a lifetime of incredible memories and fulfilling work,” Romano said. “I’m so flattered that,...

Don't let anyone tell you differently: 2023 was one helluva year for the movies.
Even as the industry struggles to recover in the wake of pandemic that nearly torpedoed everything, and even as reliable franchises started to sputter a bit, the past 12 months proved that movies have, if you'll allow us to break out the old cliche, never been better. Two of the biggest studio releases of the year were as thrilling as anything we've ever seen in a multiplex. More than a few animated movies pushed their mediums forward in dramatic ways. Comedies got weirder and more personal. Horror got more raw and experimental. And some of the most reliable names in Hollywood history once again produced masterpieces.
The /Film team gathered together to pick the 15 best movies of 2023 and the results showcase what an incredible year this truly was for anyone who cares about film. The diversity of genre,...

First up, a confession: I was never a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan. They belonged to my little brother’s generation, and to my small cousin James, who thought that their names were Teenage, Mutant, Hero and Turtle (the word ‘ninja’ being forbidden on UK children’s television in that era). I did not seek out a copy of this film, nor did I expect to enjoy it, but if there is a sequel, I shall certainly go looking for that.
It’s a nominee for Best Animated Film at the Critics Choice Awards, and there’s a reason for that. Drawing on coming book traditions rather than the animation styles associated with the TV series or previous big screen efforts, it makes for stunning viewing: fluid, inventive and full of character. Equally vibrant is the storytelling, with a pace and energy appropriate to its young teenage characters. It’s shot through with humour which.

Back in the 1990s, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" was all the rage. Thanks to the hit animated series and feature film franchise, the heroes in a half-shell became one of the biggest pop culture sensations of the decade, sparking various imitators like "Biker Mice from Mars" and "Street Sharks." But there was no beating Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo, especially when it came to the expansive action figure line from Playmates.
On top of the standard versions of all four turtles, as well as their adoptive father Splinter and primary villains Shredder, Krang, Rocksteady, and Bebop, Playmates released an eclectic array of villains along with a bunch of goofy variations on Leo, Donny, Raph, and Mikey. Michelangelo as a birthday clown? Done. Donatello as a cowboy from the Wild West? Yup. Raphael as an astronaut? You know it. Leonardo as a hockey player?...
