The way I see it; on his way home, he stops at Miss Garbo's.
Philip Quennell: What's Miss Garbo's?

While on his death bed Jules tells Pauline that her son Kippie was the killer of Hector Paradiso and that there is a SEALED letter in their safe, written by Hector right before his death, that names Kippie as the man who shot him. After Jules dies, Pauline goes to the safe to retrieve the letter. When she takes it out of the safe and opens it, it is obviously NOT sealed.
