PG-13 | | Comedy
Five siblings are left alone all summer when their mom leaves town and the evil babysitter bites the dust.
This movie was slammed by the critics (mostly for the dark comedy title) but has amassed a cult following over the years.
Sue Ellen "Swell" Crandell:
Go get that tape measure thing out of the garage.
Kenny Crandell: Will you stop ordering us around? You're not the babysitter.
Sue Ellen "Swell" Crandell: That's right, Kenny. The babysitter is dead. So just do it!
Sue Ellen's alarm clock goes off at 5:30am. When the scene goes wide, there is broad daylight with no sign of "morning pink" coming through the windows. Bright sun rays on various items in the bedroom indicate that the sun is considerably above the horizon. In Los Angeles, the sun never rises earlier than 5:40 am.At most, the sun would be just breaking the horizon.
The two groundskeepers for the cemetery stand over the Babysitters grave and comment how nice it was for her to leave them the money. The tombstone reads "Nice Old Lady inside who died of natural causes".
The film is not distributed by Warner Bros. in the UK and, as such, has a black screen replacing the WB logo at the beginning of the film.
