Mare Winningham is Jamie Hurd, a divorced mother of two in Spruse Island, off the mainland of Chicago, who is mistakenly given the wrong snapshots from the photo lab - she gets pictures of the victim of a mob hitman Robert L Parker (Christopher McDonald). This leads her into crossing the hitman and exposing her neighbor Carl Weller Stone (Nick Mancuso) an undercover cop on the run with mob bribe money.

Winningham is objectified here with director Alan Metzger focusing on her bottom in particular. She wears her hair in a Veronica Lake-style fall, impressively yells at her ex-husband on the telephone, and does a sensual lean down to kiss Carl. She also has a sweet moment tying a ribbon around her hair which pre-empts her love scene with Carl.

The teleplay by Raymond Hartung provides some clever moments of fate, where people are saved from harm because of a dog bark, a funeral procession, a parade during a car chase, a re-appearance after assumption of death, and the local police shooting the wrong person. Parker being named after Butch Cassidy allows for his cowboy persona, however, Hartung also stoops to 'This time it's personal'. Metzger over-uses the music score of Michel Colombier, except when Jamie and her sons are running from Parker onto a wharf.
  • Yeesh! The attire the actors choose in the movie is so bad, it would make ties with flashing lights seem stylish. And check out the gaudy pants on this one chump who looks like Jim Carrey, when he's riding the bicycle and the killer in the jeep pulls him over. They seem to conflict with my color recognition! Anyway, the movie was pretty slow and had some horrible electronic organ music. Another waste of time....

The film had two plots running at the same time. One was Mare Winningham dealing with a recent divorce and her children. The other was her involved with receiving some pictures that were meant for a hitman. She has a side kick for a portion of the film, a man who is trying to date her but barely looks as if he is 18. It goes downhill from there. Not highly recommended, slow moving and very predictable.
