| Sunny Deol made it special
Riding high on success of Tezaab (1988), N Chandra returned with yet another action packed film Narsimha starring Sunny Deol in titular role and Dimple Kapadia.

Om Puri played the main villain Baapji which was modelled on certain Mumbai politician of that time. Debut film of Ravi Behl and Urmila Matondkar as adult after first innings as child artist.

Sunny Deol suited the role perfectly and carried the entire film on his able shoulders. Om Puri was brilliant as ever.

A couple of songs by Laxmikant Pyarelal became popular though not in league of Tezaab.

N Chandras direction was raw and real just like his earlier movies but unfortunately, Narsimha didn't struck gold at the box office and ended being an average grosser only.

The film holds a special place in my heart as it is the last film I saw in theatre with my late grandfather. We went FDFS at Badal Bijlee cinema, Matunga and expectedly, it was a housefull show. We had a great time and discussed the film and its moments after coming home. Fond memories indeed!

Main theatre in Mumbai was the Minerva where it ran for 50 days.

Regards, Sumeet Nadkarni
