Although passed uncut for UK cinema early video versions were cut by 54 secs by the BBFC with edits to a man being thrown through a car window during the opening scene, a hand being impaled with a cleaver, a cue ball being wrapped in a handkerchief during the pool hall fight, a closeup of a shooting, and wrist snaps and blows with a rolling pin during the final fight between Gino and Richie. When it was shown on Sky's movie channels, these scenes were all present, but other violent footage had been trimmed. The version shown on network TV in the UK (Channel 5) also had some of the missing material, but again, at the expense of other edits. The cuts were fully restored in the 1999 widescreen DVD release.
