Good series ruined by Branscombe Richmond's obnoxious personality
Lorenzo Lamas was not a great actor, but for an action series, he was OK. He had great chemistry with Kathleen Kinmont, who played Cheyenne Phillips. If more of the show had been spent on their teamwork, it would have been a lot better.

Unfortunately, Branscombe Richmond had a large part in the show, and he was so totally obnoxious and annoying that I usually turn it off when "Bobby Sixkiller" comes on to talk about how rich and successful he is. Bobby Sixkiller never stops talking, and his character is a total blowhard jerk.

Overall, the concept of the show was not bad, but the choice of cast was dubious. Stephen Canell, the big-shot writer of many famous TV series, was the main villain, and he was a really cheesy villain. This was an ego trip for him, since he was not an actor, but because it was his show, he could push himself into the cast. This was another reason that Renegade did not succeed.

Richard Branscombe and Stephen Canell as the main actors torpedoed any chance that Renegade had to be a long running series. Lorenzo Lamas played his part as a fugitive motor cycling bounty hunter very well. It could have been a pretty good TV show.
