A young Irish couple flee to the States, but subsequently struggle to obtain land and prosper freely.
The boxing scenes were filmed in the partially renovated train station in Billings, Montana. An abandoned Price Club in Billings served as both a factory to produce rubber chickens used in the movie, and a soundstage for the brothel. The brothel was built inside, and fire pumps were used to create rain.
I think the prettiest girl in this factory, the one with the prettiest eyes, and the prettiest red hair, is Joseph's sister - if you don't mind me saying so Joseph.

When the land race begins there are photographers taking pictures. They fire off flash powder. There would be no point doing that in bright daylight and with the distance of the subject they were shooting. Flash powder, the system used before flashbulbs, would only have been used in a dark or indoor setting and with a subject just a few feet away.
Near the end of the credits, special thanks are given to, among others, Fungi the Dingle Dolphin.
Also in the network version: after they are thrown out in the street, it's raining; Joseph, looking for a job, jumps into a ditch and begins digging, a few seconds later, Shannon joins him stating they need the money.
