The Muppet characters tell their version of the classic tale of an old and bitter miser's redemption on Christmas Eve.
There's another verse on "Marley and Marley," but only on the soundtrack: We're Marley and Marley, And now it's time to part (doot doot) To go back where they keep our kind, The wretched and the heartless The news we've shared has got you scared ... ...
I do not make merry at Christmas...
Fred: That is certainly true.
Ebenezer Scrooge: And I cannot afford to make other people merry.
Fred: That is certainly *not* true!
When Scrooge is lighting the lamp to perform a search of the house, it is an obvious electric light. Since the film is presented as a theatre-play where The Muppets use whatever props are available, this can be seen as deliberate.
The opening credits feature the names of the Muppet characters as the Christmas Carol characters they portray. (Kermit The Frog as Bob Cratchet, etc). The ending credits list the voice actors and puppeteers themselves.
