  • Warning: Spoilers
The first season of this show was simply amazing......great writing...innovative scripts and quirky...but believable characters and all of them, with the exception of Jonathan, fit and worked well with each other. Sadly Jonathan is a square peg trying/not trying to fit into his round-assigned hole. He NEVER looks right with the regular group and we finally breath a sigh of relief when he takes a job with the BEEB.....unfortunately season 2 sees him returning WITH Harry who, rich now and not needing the job, returns anyway. Thus begins the DISASTROUS second season. The NEW wife-replacement is the one-time secretary of a small and unprosperous rival news agency who get a completely unrealistic promotion to overall manager. Soon she is a major character in the show...unwanted by EVERYONE....including the viewer and her presence does less than nothing for the show. Ridiculous situations abound and her dependance on Harry makes the show lopsided and unrealistic. ALL the rest of the staff resent her and she is, in fact, the COMPETITION, but she is never treated as such and this foolish situation completely ruins the show. Added to that is the now-predictable been there before plots and we now have a useless and unentertaining second season. Watch the first season and put it away....take my word for it....you'll be glad you did 'cause the first season is EXCELLENT....and it will only leave a bad taste in your mouth to view the second one.

Elphick is an amazing actor, Very underrated,RIP big man

Sadly he's the only good actor In this show

And the only reason to watch this

The rest of the actors are below average and Just plain annoying

The problem with the show is there is too much focus on background characters and not enough on Harry,

so what the viewer gets is mundane love stories, stories about pregnancies (yawn ) And Comedic gangsters,

Tom Hollander completely ruins the show, he adds nothing ,yet is given so much screen time

Another issue I have is with the uneven pacing, they spend a huge amount of time on some boring and badly acted student romance, and then add a Very quick car chase at the end

I don't recommend and stopped watching after 4 episodes,

I wanted to see a rougher side to harry, but All I got was the usual rubbish that you get from British TV series.
