A man with a grudge against the late Little Joe seeks revenge on the Cartwrights and attempts to take over the Ponderosa.
By the time this follow-up was made, three of the original stars, Lorne Green, Michael Landon, and Dan Blocker were dead, and surviving Cartwright son, Pernell Roberts, was not involved. However, Michael Landon's son, Michael Landon, Jr., starred as Little Joe Cartwright's son, and Dan Blocker's son Dirk, also appeared, though not as a Cartwright.
Benjamin 'Benj' Cartwright:
It's a new country... a new world. Everything's changing.
Bronc Evans: Change, just for the sake of it, ain't always good.
Near the end of the movie Augustus Brandenburg is shooting at the Cartwrights from the back car of his train. The gun he is using is a Browning M1911 .45ACP Designed in 1911 by John Browning. However the date for the events in the movie is clearly given as 1905
