In the summer of 1962, a new kid in town is taken under the wing of a young baseball prodigy and his rowdy team, resulting in many adventures.
For most of the filming the days were very hot, however during the filming of the pool scene it was overcast and the water was 56 degrees. All the kids were extremely cold, and can be seen shivering.
This pop isn't workin', Benny! I'm bakin' like a toasted cheese-it! It's so hot here!
Being as big a baseball fan and player that he is, it seems unlikely that Benny would spell Babe Ruth's last name wrong (as "Ruthe") when forging his signature on the ball.
The opening 20th Century Fox logo plays in complete silence.
Network television broadcasts omit the word "shit" while some of those airing remove a close-up of Hercules' testicles.
