It is set in Northern England. The creator Nick Park has said that his inspiration for Wallace and Gromit's setting was his childhood in the 1950's and 1960's in Lancashire. However, neither this or any of the other Wallace and Gromit features and shorts are confined to an exact time period. They all exist in their own time warp where fashions and technology such as the telephones and televisions have stayed as they were in the past but modern inventions also exist.
