Follows the personal and professional lives of six twenty to thirty-something-year-old friends living in Manhattan.
In season three, episode eight, "The One With the Giant Poking Device", Ben (Cole Sprouse) calls Monica (Courteney Cox) "Monica Bang". This name is almost the same as Chandler Bing foreshadowing Monica marrying Chandler in season seven.
Look, Joey, I know about your feelings.
Joey: Oh, you do?
Phoebe: Yeah, and I don't think it could happen.
Joey: I know. I mean it's not just my friend Rachel, it's my pregnant with Ross's child friend Rachel.
Phoebe: Uhh... Yeah, Rachel, I mean you two are friends.
Phoebe: Kick me in...
In an early episode, it is revealed that the first (and at the time, only) person Ross ever slept with was his first wife Carol. However, several years into the show, there is an episode in which Chandler says that Ross slept with the woman who cleaned their dorm building while they were in college.
When the "The One That Could Have Been" was divided into two parts for syndication, a sequence was added that had the ending credits superimposed. It shows fat Monica dancing to some music while eating some food. The original hourlong airing of "The One That Could Have Been" did not have the credits at the end of the first half hour and this scene was not involved.
In the DVD version of "The One After I Do" from season 8, there was a part when Chandler was dancing in slippery shoes with Judy Geller and slips and tears down Judy's dress. The scene was not added in the television version.
